SF Happenings!
Finally! The Backyard Gallery has decided to set a date for our first exhibit we are entitling "SF Happenings". We just published a call for artists on craigslist. The deadline to submit works is May 1st, and the exhibit will be on June 7th. For any info please email us at sfbackyardgallery@gmail.com. We look forward to hearing from you soon!

What We Do
The Backyard Gallery
The purpose of the backyard gallery is to provide an intimate space where life meets art of this time. Relevent to a period in San Francisco when the nation sees its first black president and we celebrated on the streets of Valencia. When gays are still fighting for equality. When hoards of people travel to Dolores Park if the the sun breads warmth. When art and art appreciation can meet in backyards instead of white-walled galleries. This is a time when young people are starting to become entrepeneuars at a younger age. You don't need a heavy bank account to show art. Just come to my backyard and find artists who are still perfecting their craft. This is a space where college students and above can find talented artists of our future and finally be able to afford something so unique. Art is about expression and art movements are about questioning the boundries of past perceptions and taking it a step further- and that is what we are looking to do here.
